State Central Committee Unanimously Approves Daudt’s Pro-Mining Resolution
ST. CLOUD, MN- Delegates unanimously approved House Speaker Kurt Daudt’s resolution at Saturday’s State Central Committee meeting in St. Cloud affirming the Republican Party of Minnesota’s support of mining and the tremendous economic development it will bring to Northern Minnesota.
“Thank you to the delegates for their unanimous support of the pro-mining resolution,” said Daudt. “Our action today sends a strong message to the Iron Range – that we stand with them in support of good-paying mining jobs and economic development that’s badly needed in Northern Minnesota. We will continue to fight beside them for policies that promote growth in their region.”
The resolution, which you can read by clicking here, states in part that “Republicans believe we can responsibly protect the environment while at the same time taking advantage of our natural resource to create jobs and grow the economy along the Iron Range and across Minnesota,” and notes that proposed mining projects will create 360 permanent and 830 temporary good-paying jobs in a region whose unemployment rate is twice as high as the rest of the state.
