Walz punishing unvaccinated Minnesotans
Over the past month, hundreds of Minnesota health care workers were fired for standing up for their personal medical freedom. It’s shameful that at a time when we already have a health care worker crisis, hospitals are turning their back on front-line workers who risked their lives for more than a year before there was a vaccine, especially when many have natural immunity.
Even worse, the Walz administration is now denying laid off Minnesotans from accessing unemployment. That’s right — not only did these mandates put these health care workers out of a job, now Walz is adding insult to injury by making it even more difficult to feed their family and make their mortgage payment while they look for a new job. Is it really “One Minnesota” to be intentionally destroying people’s livelihoods?
I was proud to lead dozens of my colleagues in standing up to Mayo Clinic against their vaccine mandate. These mandates are only dividing Minnesotans and make no sense when even vaccinated individuals can catch and transmit COVID. I have repeatedly voted against vaccine mandates on the House Floor and on DAY ONE of the 2022 Legislative Session I dropped legislation prohibiting government AT ANY LEVEL from mandating a vaccine.
